I cry in the blackness of night.
I am not afraid, nor am I lonely, or imagining the evil
out there in the unexplored darkness.
I weep, unheard sobs wrenching my deepest heart
with emotions inexpressible in human terms.
I know that You know, my Lord,
without a shadow of confusion or misunderstanding,
this profound longing I have
to be so close to You
that I'm actually connected to Your being.
Draw me closer and closer.
Never loosen Your grip or stop pulling me in
until I am literally absorbed into Your perfect totality.
