In addition to pastoring several small churches among the Banjara (Gypsy) tribal people in south India, Pastor Lazarus and his wife, Susheela, care for 34 Banjara children who've been abandoned or whose families cannot care for them. Due to the depressed economic conditions among the tribes and the dowry system in India, many are not giving good care to the female children; in fact, some of them are actually killing female babies.
